When the .NET generic top-level domain name extension was initially introduced in 1985, together with the first domain extensions on the web, it was supposed to be used by Internet Service Providers or infrastructure organizations. As there were no particular conditions about the usage of the top-level domain, though, .NET domains were acquired and used for different purposes and by a huge number of people. This TLD is a good alternative to .COM, notably if the necessary domain with the latter TLD is not free for registration.
Buying a .NET domain name with our company is as easy as pie and takes only a couple of minutes, given that we work with an ICANN-certified registrar company. You can reserve such a domain for a time interval between 1 and 10 years, or, if you already have a domain, you can transfer it to our company and we will renew it once the transfer process is finalized. Transfers are possible for all domain names, which are at least sixty days old, given that they are unlocked and that you have obtained an EPP transfer authorization code – security measures introduced by the Registry to prevent unauthorized transfers. You can easily alter the WHOIS contact information of the domain through your Control Panel tool, or, if you don’t want this information to be public at all, you can get a Whois Privacy Protection service, so nobody will be able to check your actual contact info.
The dot NET top-level domain name extension supports internationalized names, so you can take a decision whether you want to focus on a specific country or area using a domain name in the native language, or the global online community – using a generic English name.
